The redevelopment of Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue is in full progress

The redevelopment of Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue by the Municipality of Chalkida is progressing rapidly. This is one of the largest urban renewal projects, which will transform the appearance of Chalkida’s broader commercial center.

The redevelopment of 28th Octovriou Street and Arethousis Street has already been completed, featuring new wide sidewalks, modern street lighting, a unified median with new plantings, asphalt paving, bike lanes and accessibility features for people with disabilities. Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue is the next phase and is beginning to take the same upgraded form.

It is reminded that, for the needs of the project, temporary traffic regulations have been put in place to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

The Municipality of Chalkida asks for citizens’ understanding and cooperation, as any inconvenience caused is temporary, while the substantial upgrade of the entire avenue and the improvement in quality of life will be permanent.
