Asteria, Lefkandi and Alykes among the 623 “Blue Flag” awarded beaches in Greece

For another year, the Municipality of Chalkida is among the Municipalities nationwide that were awarded for their beaches by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (ESPN), National Operator of the International “Blue Flag” Program in our country. A total of 52 countries participated in the program, with Greece holding 2nd place worldwide with 623 beaches.
The 3 beaches of the Municipality of Chalkida that were awarded the Blue Flag are:
Asteria, in Chalkida
Lefkanti, in Lilantio
Alykes, in Drosia
The awards are given following inspections and based on, among other things, the cleanliness of the sea and the coast, the organization of the coast, the safety of visitors and the protection of nature.
