Monday, August 4, 21:00 | Theatre Performance: Neither Forward nor Back
The new satirical comedy by Thanasis Papathanasiou & Michalis Reppas on the madness of daily life is touring across Greece. Neither Forward nor Back is a revue-style show with music and songs that satirizes today’s reality: what happens in our homes, in the streets, on social media, on TV. What unites and what divides us as Greeks, shown with sharp humor. Seven outstanding comic actors switch roles constantly to present eleven short sketches within ninety minutes, creating a galaxy of characters who resemble us—sometimes irritating, but ultimately lovable. Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece is presented in a grand summer tour of Greece’s open-air theatres. A hymn to love, it tells the story of Odette, cursed to live as a swan by the sorcerer Rothbart, and Prince Siegfried’s struggle to break the spell through true love.
